A random acts of kindness…

Write about a random act of kindness you’ve done for someone.

When you do something for someone, you never count the favors. It is more blessed to give than to receive, as the bible tells me so. The littlest piece of help I can give to someone makes me happy. I remember walking to the store near my house and seeing the same guy in the same clothes each day, just standing there being ignored due to the looks of himself. It was evident that he wanted help, but never asked for anything, not even gloves during the winter. I never know what to offer during those times, just because it’s cold out doesn’t always mean they want coffee or hot chocolate, sometimes they may want tea. My favorite line is “Get what you want,” I never give a limit or tell the person what to get, and although it may sometimes be the weirdest thing I never judge because you never know why a person does the things they do. Sometimes one may grab a piece of candy and say that’s all, why? Because they haven’t had that candy in a long time, that’s what brings them joy.

I’ve seen that guy for months and months, in the same form, and all he wanted was a beverage, or something small. One day, I asked him if he had eaten and to go pick out actual food, and he told me he didn’t want to ruin my budget. “Who has a budget?” I asked. When it comes to situations that are legit like that, I can’t just walk away. You can tell when someone is being legit versus when they aren’t. I’ve seen people holding signs saying they were homeless, just to collect money, and get into a nice car or truck. I try to show kindness everywhere I go not only because that’s who Literaturebyjessc is, but I treat people how I would want to be treated in that case. What if that was me? Since those times, I have created memories, and a repor with the many people that I’ve helped. Some I see today look a lot better just because of a simple conversation we had. Sometimes people need inspiration, and to be heard. A lot of people aren’t homeless due to drugs, their homeless due to the economy, and that’s what we fail to realize. As the cost of living continues to rise, so does the hardship of getting a job to support your everyday cost of living. So before you judge someone, take a look at what you had to go through in order to get to where you are.
