I’m well known for support, especially when it is positive, or advocating for the youth. Smrt🩷Grlz, as we last discussed has opened for business, but went completely overboard into something nobody would think off. Upon veiwing their WEBSITE, I came across their scavenger hunt. Now before I get deep into the scavenger hunt, something major I really loved is youth is teaching us. Smrt🩷Grlz not only sells merchandise, but has a club in which the oath is for the better of yourself. They have also included a initiative to help people create the “I can do it,” mindset, and advocacy of women. What an amazing idea!
I’m unsure if when doing the scavenger hunt, whether or not you are supposed to do it in order, however number 10 on the website really stood out to me. It reads as follows “Discover a quote that promotes confidence and self-belief.” Now before I step deeply into my quote, I took the chance to reflect upon myself, what I’ve been through, and where I came from. This resorted in what Smrt🩷Grlz look for during their positive affirmations. The quote that stood out to me the most In response to their scavenger hunt was “With pain, comes strength.”
For those that aren’t aware, I am an epileptic patient. Seizures hurt physically, mentally, and emotionally. There was a point in time where I had given up after having 27 seizures back to back. My body was in pain, my mind was at a state like why me out of all people, and how did I develop such an issue at a young age. I was living such a nice childhood, and boom about 13 pills a day at age 19. After seizing back to back, the doctor looked at me with eyes to say “You shouldn’t have made it through that, your brain is literally getting friend.” I looked up at him, and said “But God.” So when I came back to myself mentally, I went on to share my story with others who may have been through similar issues, visited patients with similar issues to let them know “Can’t” isn’t in our vocabulary, you can do it, a disability doesn’t stop anything.

Angels of Epilepsy is a nonprofit organization that advocates for epilepsy and it’s awareness. Based in Georgia, yet does monthly zooms which allows others to discuss how they handle their epilepsy, doctors have even joined to further help understand epilepsy and possible cures. So to reflect on the ending part of “With pain comes strength,” strength came from seeing others and knowing I wasn’t alone, providing a lead way for others to know they can. I became a blogger, teacher, joined college, and so much more. Go Smrt🩷Grlz !
