Meeting Yung $avv was an eye-opener. Not many artists are as determined as he is. Whether a producer was available or not, he still had the equipment to continue doing what he needed. That’s the type of motivation we need to see these days. We need to see Artist who sets an example for upcoming rappers and that’s exactly what one of his goals was. Music is an escape and form of expression for Yung $avv in which he is very versatile. Meaning he can do rap, drill, and R&B, and have you in your feelings about things that he experienced himself, but you feel it through his music. That’s the type of music I like to hear, I like to feel what you’ve been through while you’re into it.
Straight out of Plainfield, NJ, Yung $avv started rapping in a closet using a speaker and voice memo as recording on a virgin mobile phone. Aren’t we old? He made two music videos using a Galaxy phone before he had any manager or form of direction. He was young and didn’t know much music-wise where that music could have potentially taken off at that moment. Ever since he was young, his mom made him sing EVERY single word to EVERY single Michael Jackson song, in which he had memorized at the age of 10, so music was nothing to it but to do it for Yung $avv. Yung $avv didn’t expect to have the support that he did, so he took it a bit further. In 2014 he began computer freestyles, and networking in any way possible. In 2015 Yung $avv and Lay Bandz started “Bangfield the movement,” where they would promote and share music of their own and others. In 2022, He connected with Mr.Ke4 of whom he also has music with, who seen potential in him and became his music producer as well as making professional videos. He then went on to further his career with his cousin Smuddy Woo, who also saw potential in him, and joined his label “Twenty420seven,” which is more than just a music label, as Yung $avv was also a part of “Skyline,” they all connected as one with the same goals and intentions.
As stated before, Yung $avv and Lay Bandz started “Bangfield The Movement,” with hopes that their music will continue to travel from one ear, to another. Late night sessions and hard work led to his 1st Album titled “Bangfield Chronicles Volume 1.,” and 8 singles “Turn me on,” “Hood Scars,” (ft Lay Bandz and Mr.Ke4), “Hurricanes,” “Real Life Freestyle,” “Alone,” “Toxic,” “No Love Freestyle,” and “Been Plotting” Ft Lay Bandz. Of course a team isn’t a team if they all don’t contribute in some way, and Yung $avv highly promotes that behind his features with Smuddy Woo such as “Bases Loaded,” Yung $avv is one of the main Artist out of Twenty420Seven who shows leadership and teamwork by creating his own lane, and working with his label in any way possible. This includes features with the CEO Smuddy Woo himself, his own pages, appearing on live, twenty420seven’s podcast, and even traveling for performances whether it’s to perform, or support his team. A lot of Yung Savv’s Music is either featuring Lay Bandz or vice versa because this is who he put the most time in with before actually settling with a team in agreeance to expand.
I was given a sneak peek of Yung $avv’s music upon meeting for the first time, and I wanted to hear more. I begged him to start releasing what he was holding back, because the world needed to hear and feel that form of expression. Not many Artist can make you feel their pain, and where they came from to where they’re going at the same time. Yung $avv even spit freestyles off of his head that made me feel as though I was in his shoes, and when I’m listening to music as a person, and upcoming producer myself, that is exactly how I want to feel. They say we are all cut from the same cloth, but his piece is a lot more deeper than what you would expect. I know that crowd at in South River, NJ went crazy when he performed “My all”.
“Toxic” snippet has just been released via Youtube, and I am absolutely engaged at the flow for one. For two, I was able to feel what he felt and determine the meaning behind the song. He is focused on the better of his career, anything other than that is blocking his way. It also appears that he wrote this song for others to wonder what’s coming next, and what’s currently going on in his life. You would not be able to determine his level of pain or happiness, but you can feel it, and that’s what I love the most. I want to be anxious for what’s coming next, if you give everyone everything in one shot, that doesn’t keep them engaged because they already know what to expect. It’s forever FREE LAY BANDZ.
