Children have always held a special place in my heart, no matter what. They can do things wrong, but everything is for a reason. I can remember feeling not understood as a child, and that’s one of the main things I care about so much within today’s generation. Yes, I would like these children to attend school and have a great education and a great childhood. Put the violence away, stop giving our children to the streets, or allowing it to happen because you as a parent are too selfish to put the time in. I guess you can pretty much guess the profession I am leaning towards, which is teaching.
Now, I haven’t taught all ages, my thing was “Always start young,” as the elders would say. I believe that if you engage properly with a child, you can lead them down the right path. As a former teacher, I made sure all my students were comfortable no matter what the case, whether it be an eating disorder, or a learning disability. I made sure that each time a child left the school, or moved up, that they weren’t forgotten in my classroom. I also built a school-home relationship with the parents to ensure that I could do anything to help them progress at home just as they do in school. I believe that is what made me the best teacher, I even attended home birthday parties and celebrations, and have tutored. It takes extreme love dealing with the youth because you are part of the face of their future.
Being a part of the child’s life has the most impact on their life. They never forget their favorite moments with their favorite teachers, and neither does the parent. You start to feel apart of the family because that child is someone you helped mold into the Doctor, Nurse, Lawyer, Officer, etc., that they either are today or will become. So yes, children hold a special place in my heart because I wouldn’t want them to experience some of the things that we as adults have. ❤️
