Every decision we make each day is a blessing or lesson. Either way, we still learn to progress in some way shape, or form. If you were walking with untied shoes, and you tripped and fell. What have you now learned? Do not walk or run with untied shoes. I think my biggest lesson was realizing that everyone isn’t the same. Just because one person did something to you, doesn’t mean the next person will do the same. Trauma is real, but we also have to understand that people are willing to learn and understand who you are as a person, where you came from, to where you’re going.
I constantly live life with a wall, or a guard up around myself if you will. It’s so heavy that some people who have attempted to love me couldn’t because I wouldn’t allow them to due to the things that I have been through in the past. I finally learned that everyone doesn’t have the same intentions. I learned that there actually are genuine people around who just want to love you, flaws and all. I accepted the fact that someone loves me for ME. Not for my body, not for my business, or money, for me, and I can honestly say I am happy with that. I am content with being able to express myself to the person I love, without worrying about being criticized for who I am, or what I say. No one is perfect, the next day isn’t promised, and we’re getting older, not younger. So to say that I am grateful is an understatement. I am completely blessed, and I give the most high all the praise and glory. I’ll leave you with this, a family that prays together, stays together. That’s something we make sure to do together each night and remind each other that you are not alone, you are loved. I think allowing someone to love me and loving him back was the best decision I could ever make. “God is love,” – Rev Run.
