Cold weather is known to be the cause of pneumonia and other respiratory sicknesses. That’s the main thing we all focus on, until it’s time to lie down from a long day of work all over, a nice shower, and your room is room temperature, but you know you sweat during your sleep. It’s amazing to sleep in the cold, it’s like the best sleep, that sleep that you don’t wake up to pee for.
Sleep is very beneficial to our lives as a whole. Too often we don’t pay attention to the fact that we need sleep to properly function, this includes emotionally as well. We don’t realize the frustration we take out on others, as well as the stress we put on ourselves. A full eight hours of sleep does the body just great, in fact, the stretch after is amazing. My night ritual usually consists of showering after dinner, taking my medicine, and winding down. In that winding down process, the ceiling fan, the window fan, and the air conditioner are on. Yes, I am cold, but there are about six pillows, a heavy comforter, & a strong man covering me which makes my 5’3 self feel like an ant. Either way, I’m comfortable. The next morning, I am well rested, ready for my coffee, and whatever else the day shall bring.
Sleeping in the cold is a very helpful sleep, along with rain sounds and music, it’s the most peaceful way to forget about how hard the day was, release whatever stress it is that you have been holding, and a sense of calmness. There’s no need to think about the things you have to do in the morning because we are focused on the now. How can you prepare yourself for tomorrow if you’re constantly thinking about tomorrow? I tend to keep a list of things I know I need to complete in my face, and as the day goes on, that list slowly gets checked off. I’ve had a list down to 20 things I needed to get done, and it doesn’t always get completed in the time frame that I would like, all that matters is that I tried. If you continue to stress about what needs to be done, you’ll forget about what you’ve already accomplished. The smallest accomplishments have a great impact on you today, it’s still some form of motivation for others, and that’s what we fail to realize. In the end, aside from sicknesses, cold weather in the home is best, now outside is a different story because the temperatures are different. Having a fan or two on is different from being outside in cold weather in just a sweater in 30-45-degree weather, whereas, in the house, you’re all bundled up, at least I know I am.
