What Does It Mean To Be A Kid At Heart?

Ahh, A kid at heart is always a wonderful feeling. It’s like you have so much love to give out during sadness, happiness, etc. Remember being younger, and wishing to be an adult so bad, now we’re all adults and wanting to change the hands of time. Being a kid at heart is going out and buying those things that you wanted as a child, and couldn’t get. Not because you were broke, but because the answer was always no, or a broken promise.

When I first became an adult, I did all of the things I barely could do as a child. I went to parties, I had fun, I started expanding myself to the community and giving back. Being a teacher definitely had a major impact on me being a kid at heart. I taught pre-school, so of course everything was soft, gentle, and loving. I taught children shapes, letters, numbers, how to write their names, and so much more, therefore, I implemented my childhood in there. It became a lot more fun to just simply sing and dance. I felt all the moments that I wanted to have with my sister as a child, as a teacher playing my students. What made it even better is that most of my children kept that same relationship with me when they moved, or moved on to the next class.

A student is like a Teacher’s child as well if they care enough. You have to learn them in order to figure out the best way to teach them. In my school, we did field trips, and I was just as intrigued as the kids. Seaquest was very fun for me at the age of 27 compared to my childhood. I did more things that I never did because I was scared, like actually holding an iguana. I pet animals that I could see myself running from as a child. So when you ask me what it really means to be a kid at heart, it’s simply having fun while doing the things you love, or couldn’t do as a child.
