“If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” – Maya Angelou
My favorite poet, and not because of her color, but she makes you think of things from all perspectives, before actually expressing what it is she is talking about. The above quote stood out to me the most today, why, because people lack self confidence and self-esteem. Now this doesn’t go directly towards that, but it’s definitely coincides with is. If you don’t like the way something is going with your job, your life, your relationships, and you’ve already changed it, maybe its not that/them, maybe it’s you. Maybe you’ve gotta become a lot more positive in some cases, and maybe you’ve gotta tighten up in others.
You can’t always fault the other person/thing for the causes of what’s going on. We all aren’t perfect. But I’ll tell you that one thing about the quote “If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude,”, now about that day when you and bae arguing and you finally just say “okay” and allow him/her to be right, see now it’s a problem right? LMAO! No, you don’t interpret that quote that way, you not only change your attitude to that situation, but to others as well. Maybe their are some relationship habits you guys need to change.
As for me, this is one of my favorite quotes because I didn’t like the way something was going for me, and apparently it wasn’t changing. I changed myself and a lot of my ways, became more productive, more focused, and more encouraging in other people’s situations, and It feels better. Infact, I’ve been told I have a glow added to me now since I’ve changed within myself.
Rest in Peace Maya Angelou, gone but NEVER forgotten.
