Music is Music

Ya’ll know I’m old school and what not, I love me some throwbacks. So on the way to my catscan today, I kept wondering why they kept playing Aretha Franklin over and over. Ya’ll know ya’ll been at family cookouts and heard “R-E-S-P-E-C-T find out what it means to me,” and somewhere on the radio you’ve heard “You make me feel like a natural woman.” Unfortunately the Queen of soul is ill.(PRAYERS) To be so young, I am definitely into a lot of old school because most of our “new school” is just that, remixed.

Like the king of pop “Michael Jackson”. People come up with all these accusations of this and that, but were and probably still do sing and dance to his songs. I feel like musically people should allow us to judge music based off of what we like. If you like it, you like it. That’s another problem I’ve noticed within the world, because you listen to such and such, you are this and that, feel me? No, it shouldn’t be that way, music is music.

I listen to today’s music as well, but people don’t realize, or maybe it’s just me, you feel it more when it’s heard originally. I’m connected to the mind and always trying to feel and understand someone, I feel like music is the only thing that understands me sometimes. So, those headphones go on, and I become somebody’s back up singer, and eventually snatch the mic, lol.
