What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice anyone can receive is to simply mind their business. When you focus on your own needs and wants, life treats you differently. It’s not called being “stingy”, it’s called giving yourself time to make sure you are prepared in all aspects. What can you bring to the table, that will help the situation better? What can you do for yourself, that can be a learning situation for others?
My biggest learning experience was everybody wants something, and you have to be able to tell when the want is legit, and when it’s just there to be there. Nobody’s gonna respect anyone who doesn’t hold their ground, it’s an easy stance for someone to walk over you. “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for nothing.” I stand for those who can’t properly stand for themselves right now, I stand for those who were doubted but made it. I stand for the youth, and the community. A lot of people don’t realize, the youth plays a very essential part in everything. They look up to people like us, who must lead correctly this time around. So when you have someone come and ask questions, take heed. It’s not always a way for them to express themselves, but not everyone wants the same thing. Our job, in my eyes, is to steer the youth away from the streets, and into proper colleges, interviews for THEIR good, not ours, a simple response back to a DM of someone who looks up to you, may have saved a life. Yet, we wait until it’s too late to say goodbye, you did a good job while you were here, instead of giving credit when due now.
Take a look at yourself from someone else’s shoes. I tried, but I don’t wear the same size as everyone else. Although I was told my life story has inspired the lives of many, I’m not done yet, nor do I always see what people mean. Me? Changed a life? How? By posting my daily events, my daily lifestyle, the things I experience on a daily, and how I get through it. I may do a swell job, but nobody is my “son”, for wanting to learn how to inspire others in their own way. You become my “son” when I give birth to your creativity, which I cannot. It starts within YOU. 🩷
