In today’s world a lot of people fail to realize that their voice matters, yet communication is key. It’s a basic skill that is very important and necessary in life. No matter what you are doing, every day involves communication whether it be typing, writing, or verbal. Life is not all about negativity, nor is everything going to be positive. A lot of people don’t know how to fully communicate, and that can intervene with a lot of great opportunities.
I’ve witnessed situations where people don’t know how to communicate, or are scared to, so they just give up on whatever it is that they are in the process of. That’s how you miss out on a lot. Example, I’ve moved from a neighborhood that wasn’t so friendly, to a better neighborhood where children are playing in the streets and neighbors are talking. It took for me to be outside one day watching my bonus children play, to where a neighbor kicked their ball back over and explained if I ever needed anything to let him know. Had I not communicated with him, I probably wouldn’t be able to ask him to throw the ball back. Another incident happened involving my next door neighbor’s dog, it took for me to make one call for every neighbor to be on the doorstep of my home after months of living here. Everyone was finally talking, and getting to know my family, noticing that we weren’t what they expected. We all now communicate, and now when someone needs something, we all lean on one another. That is the positivity of communicating and the joy that comes along with it, it’s such an amazing feeling. I was in the process of cleaning my yard when a neighbor noticed that I could use some of materials she uses for her garden, and lended them to me, now my lawn looks amazing. The process of communicating!
